Padhraig (Patrick) O’Byrne

Hello my name is Patrick O’Byrne, I am the Owner/Operator of 5 Stars Vanity Phone Number. I live in Brockville Ontario. I am a retired Software Systems Developer/Business Analyst/Data Analyst (37 years). I have worked for two private software consulting firms (6 years), as an independent computer consultant (16 years) and for the federal government (15 years). As a computer consultant designing and developing business applications I had the opportunity to develop systems in a variety of industries touching on all aspects of operations (never a dull moment).

Philosophy

One of my favourite elements of the job was the business analysis component, where I would get to look at an organization and see how to apply processes/technology/ideas to leverage current software/hardware to generate outsized returns (productivity/savings). I like the idea of leveraging something simple to produce disproportionate returns on investment, I think that a premium vanity phone number can be that simple but significant component that can materially boost a real estate brand and generate additional prospective customer interest.

Accomplishments

In the final 15 years of my career I worked for CBSA of the federal government at a regional field office in Toronto and for the CBSA lab in Ottawa. As a Regional Program Advisor (Technology) I was given free reign to identify areas for improvement. My mandate was to use technology to improve productivity, safety, accuracy, save money etc… I was responsible for the design and development of about 30 computerized systems in the 10 years that I spent in the regional office. Please see the accompanying pictures to view some of the accomplishments I realized during my tenure at CBSA. A common thread with the following awards is that they are all in the innovation category. A vanity phone number is innovation at its most practical. It transforms a simple, essential daily use tool into a brand and marketing asset that works for real estate agents around the clock.

My submission was one of two winners and earned the CBSA Agency Above and Beyond Award.

Fun Fact

One of the things that was on my (and my wife’s) bucket list was to attend the Olympic games. We got our chance this year when we went to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan/Cortina, Italy. To bring some extra fun to our Olympic adventure, I had a banner made up that said “Hello BROCKVILLE”. I posted the sign in a prominent place at a number of Olympic hockey games. We were astonished at the response to the sign, it went viral. The Brockville newspaper, The Recorder and Times interviewed us, which resulted in a front page story. Three radio stations (see below) received posts, comments, likes and pictures from their listeners on their Facebook pages. We enjoyed reading all the comments (about 200 comments and 3000 likes) - interesting, informative and very funny.

Personal/ Reviews

My wife and I retired to Brockville, Ontario, a beautiful city on the St Lawrence river. When I retired I started a small business renting out a couple of RVs on the RVezy and Outdoorsy peer-to-peer RV rental platform. I have since decided to move on from the RV rentals but I still have one RV listed on each platform so that potential 5 Stars Vanity Phone Number customers (you) can check out the reviews I have received over the years.
